Border Battle games Tuesday at Romano

From the News Tribune:

Minnesota seeks to end Wisconsin’s domination tonight in the fourth annual Border Battle High School All-Star games at Romano Gymnasium on the Minnesota Duluth campus.

Wisconsin has won all three previous boys games, including the past two by 20-plus points. The Wisconsin girls are 3-0, but the last two were single-digit victories.

Minnesota’s boys team includes Duluth East’s Johnny Woodard and Taylor Stafford, Duluth Denfeld’s Andrew Laughlin and Derek Meger and Lakeview Christian Academy scoring sensation Anders Broman.

Duluth East teammates Alex Freeman and Shamika Hopkins and 6-foot-9 Esko center Savanna Trapp head up the Minnesota girls roster.

The girls game begins at 6 p.m., while the boys game gets underway at 8. Admission is $8 for adults, $6 for students and seniors and $4 for UMD students with their activity cards.
